Along with all the work, we also had time for some fun! All these things can be experienced on the summer mission!! Zebras, giraffes, endless views of the Nile River, village walks, river tubing, and so much more!!
The second stop in our journey took us south to Jinja. We had visited Bridges of Glory School October 23, and installed solar security lights. We very quickly decided it was a place we would love to return. Bridges of Glory is a school for deaf children. We installed solar power in their girls dorm, and added more security lights!! The kids were so interested in our work and jumped right in to help!
I’m so excited to return on the Summer Mission to installed solar on the boys dormitory!

Our day at Kiiko Primary School was such a learning experience, it was the day that confirmed you always need to see the big picture! After we completed the installation, the teachers wanted to share their thankfulness for the solar we installed in their home!
Okutambula Kulaba Okudda Kunyumya (If you’ve traveled, your’ll have a story to tell)! I have just arrived home from a Uganda, where I traveled, and worked for two weeks. It was a time filled with so many adventures, and so much learning. I was able to install solar, visit past installations, make a few repairs, and scout out future sites! I found that even after working in Uganda for 22 years, there is still so much to learn and experience! This video will share one of my greatest learning experiences of the last 22 years!
Mama Janet was the first recipient of the solar light when we started at Restoration Gateway! The team visited her yesterday to hear about the impact of the light brought to her home! In the end we installed solar onto 21 orphan homes, changing the way they lived!
