Our story and the foundation for “Movable Roots” began many years ago growing up in Nogales Arizona in our own THOW (Tiny Home On Wheels or in our case a mobile home). In the early years, we learned our work ethic, building knowledge, and how to treat customers from our father. In those days, Dad was a General Contractor and had a remodeling business named “Cheatham and Sons”. Our oldest brother

, Paul, was the first son to take up Dad’s craft. Paul worked for Dad full- time while we tagged along with our tiny tool bags and hammers in our free time from chores and school. This mentoring and “OTJ” training continued through the years to come . For the past 20+ years, we have worked together and individually as company owners in all stages of the residential construction and remodeling business. In recent years, Mike and Nikki (Mike’s better half ) had begun researching “living tiny” and “going tiny” themselves. They were ready to LIVE more (traveling and creating more memories) while freeing themselves from the typical high cost of a mortgage on a traditional home. Mike and Nikki shared this new-found passion of possibly building Tiny Homes for others with Jonathan and everyone hit the ground running …. Movable Roots will bring our traditional home building and remodeling skills into every Tiny Home we build. These skills will be matched with prioritizing our customers’ needs and an unrivaled time management to ensure we make those build deadlines as promised. Movable Roots Team! 🚨 BUYER BEWARE PLEASE READ🚨

We do share Buyer Beware warnings from time to time—but we usually avoid posting the actual scam. Today, we felt we needed to speak up. This situation has been brought to our attention multiple times, and we even received a phone call from someone about to Zelle over $3,000 to "secure the home"—thankfully, they called us first to verify.

To be clear: This home is not for sale.

Someone is falsely advertising our Black Prong Park Model as a used home for sale on a Facebook group titled (there are several) “Tiny houses for sale.” The person running the scam is also the admin of the group and is claiming to sell our home.

Here’s the truth:
✅ This home is not for sale used
✅ We work directly with the client who owns this home
✅ It would never be listed at the price shown in the scam post

We’ve reported the group and post to Facebook, but unfortunately, nothing has been done.

⚠️ Please do not fall victim to these tactics. Sadly, this is becoming all too common in the tiny home industry.

Even with soft-close cabinets, we don’t take any chances—every door and drawer gets the blue tape treatment to make sure it stays shut on the road.🔹 2x4 Secured Pocket Doors: Pocket doors are a space-saving dream, but during transit, we secure them with a 2x4 to prevent any movement or damage.🔹 D-Rings and Straps: We attach straps to D-rings around all appliances to keep them securely in place.
