I’m Vicki ;-)

Fence Defender was born in the spring of 2014. Scooter and I wanted a ‘little side business’ to hustle some extra cabbage on the weekends. (Or what a dirty job it is...but, that’s for another story with Mike Rowe). We grew exponentially in the first year, so I dove in head-first in 2015 to manage the biz full-time. Fast forward to present...we’ve made a bit of a name for ourselves b

y doing things right. We even started building fences too! Mama always said if you don’t have time to do it right the first time, you sure won’t have time to do it twice. Thanks, Mom! Dad told me to always do what you said you would do. Thanks, Dad! We love our job, we love our employees and we love our customers (and their dogs)! We’re super pumped that you stopped by and look forward to adding your name to the ridiculously long list of our satisfied customers and raving fans.

Our Story

Hi Y’all! I’m Vicki ;)

Fence Defender was born from a whim in our garage over some beers and a dart game in the spring of 2014. Scooter and I wanted a ‘little side business’ to hustle some extra cabbage on the weekends. We had no idea how awesome we’d be at this gig! (Or what a dirty job it is...but, that’s for another story with Mike Rowe) Our little whim grew exponentially during our first year, so I quit my full-time job in 2015 to manage the biz and sling stain full-time. Scooter wasn’t so much a fan of the work, the messiness of the stain, the smell of the stain...and when he got fence stain on his shiny red pickup for the first time, his staining career ended pretty fast.

But, that’s ok! I loved it and decided to stay in the game with Scooter to remain my silent, clean partner! Fast forward to present...we’ve somehow managed to make a bit of a name for ourselves by doing things right. Mama always said if you don’t have time to do it right the first time, you sure won’t have time to do it twice. We love our job, we love our customers, we love our customer’s dogs and we just love making ugly fences pretty!
