🌪 Hurricane Milton Category 3 with 120 mph sustained winds: Important Update for Lake County from Kats Tree Service 🌪
For those who have a false sense of security because we are on the north side of the storm this is the recent update from the National Hurricane Center:“Milton's wind field is expected to grow considerably in size by the
time the center moves over Florida. In addition, a large region of tropical storm and hurricane force winds could occur on the northwest/back side of the storm since Milton will be interacting
with a frontal boundary and beginning extratropical transition.”
🆘 We urge everyone to take this storm seriously. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. The inconvenience of preparing for nothing is far less than the devastation of being caught off guard. Time and again, we’ve seen people fail to prepare and face horrible consequences in storms just like this. You don’t want to be one of them—believe me. As Floridians, we can grow complacent because of the close calls we’ve had, but this is not going to be a close call. This storm is coming, and the damage will be far-reaching and widespread. Now is the time to act!
As Hurricane Milton moves closer to central Florida, predicted to make landfall as a major Hurricane, we at Kats Tree Service want to take a moment to express our deep concern for our community here in Lake County. In times like these, we understand the unease many of you are feeling, and quite frankly may be in utter disbelief with the unfolding news of this storm. Especially after the recent impacts of Hurricane Helene.
The Importance of Being Prepared:
Hurricanes can be unpredictable, and one of the most crucial things we can all do is stay prepared. With local government and emergency response teams already stretched thin from handling the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, it’s more important than ever to take personal steps to safeguard your home and property.
At Kats Tree Service, we’ve seen firsthand the damage that hurricanes can inflict, particularly when it comes to trees and debris. Downed trees and large branches not only threaten homes and vehicles but also pose serious risks to personal safety and power lines. These hazards can delay emergency response and restoration services even further, so now is the time to act.
What You Can Do to Prepare:
Trim or Remove Hazardous Trees: If you have trees near your home, especially older or large ones, it’s crucial to assess their health and stability before the storm hits. Dead or diseased trees are much more likely to fall under the pressure of hurricane-force winds.
Clear Loose Branches: Even healthy trees can have loose branches that could break off during a storm. Removing these now can help minimize damage to your property.
Clear Debris: Gutters, yards, and surrounding areas should be cleared of loose debris, as these can become projectiles during high winds.
Don’t Wait to Call: We encourage you to reach out to us early. Waiting until the last minute may result in us being unable to provide timely service due to high demand, especially as the storm approaches.
How Kats Tree Service Can Help:
We are proud to serve Lake County and have extensive experience in storm preparation and tree care. We are trained to assess and address potential hazards, ensuring your property is in the best shape possible to weather the storm. Services we provide include:
Tree Trimming and Pruning: We can trim back overgrown branches and weak limbs, ensuring your trees are better able to withstand the winds.
Tree Removal: In cases where trees pose a significant risk, especially those that are diseased or too close to structures, we can safely remove them.
Why Early Action Matters:
While we are fully equipped and ready to help, it’s important to understand that the window for preparation is closing. As Hurricane Milton approaches, demand for tree services will rise sharply, and time will be of the essence. We will be working as quickly as possible, but can handle what we can get done tomorrow.
Additionally, the strain on local government and emergency response resources, still dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, means recovery efforts may be slower than usual when Milton strikes. This makes it all the more important to prepare now and reduce your property’s vulnerability to storm damage.
Community Safety Is Our Priority At Kats Tree Service, we are more than just a business; we are part of the Lake County community. We live and work here, and we deeply care about the safety and well-being of our neighbors. In the face of Hurricane Milton, we want to do everything we can to help protect your families, homes, and businesses.
We urge everyone to stay informed by following updates from the National Weather Service and local authorities. Know your evacuation routes, gather your hurricane supplies, and prepare your home and property as best as you can. We will be here to assist you with your tree care needs every step of the way.
Contact Us Today If you have concerns about the trees on your property or need assistance with tree trimming, removal, or debris clearing, don’t hesitate to contact us today. With Hurricane Milton approaching fast, the time to act is now. We will be shutting down operations Tuesday afternoon so that we can be with our families and make any last minute preperations. We will be ready and prepared to assist with recovery efforts and emergency response once the storm passes.
