This Birmingham homeowner's carrier initially approved a 7 shingle repair.

🔴 Alabama residents, please read! 🔴
Be weather aware! Per various Central Alabama meteorologists, tornadoes and large hail seem to be inevitable at this point. If you experience high winds and/or hail, here are a few tips that will be helpful if your property becomes damaged.

1) Take before and after photos of the exterior of your home. Siding, photos of the slopes of the roof, garage doors, garden or other decorative foliage, outdoor furniture, grills, etc.

2) If hail is falling or high winds occur at your home, SAFELY take videos or photos to document the date, severity of the winds and size of the hail. PLEASE do not put yourself in any danger to do this! This system will be heavily documented by the National Weather Service, but videos and photos do help in the event your home is damaged.

3) If your property is damaged and you need tarping to mitigate further damages, please give me a call at 205-549-3828. I will document photos of damages and assist you with the repairs process if you need to file a claim with your carrier.

4) Most importantly, stay safe!

Central Alabama has been elevated to a 5/5 risk level. James Spann is going live shortly to go over the update.

A high risk (level 5/5) has been defined for parts of AL and MS for “round two” tomorrow afternoon/night. A new video briefing will be up shortly.

Governor Ivey has proclaimed a state of emergency for the entire state for the weekend. Now is the time to prepare, please don't wait! Have portable chargers fully charged, batteries and light sources available, and I recommend going to Home Depot or Lowe's and getting hard hats for your families if you don't already have some head protection. Strapped-on bicycle helmets and football helmets work well too, if you already have those.

If you end up with storm related damage to your home, please make sure you are dealing with contractors that are licensed in Alabama and insured, these types of weather events bring the huckster con men out from all over the place. If they don't have Alabama tags on their vehicle or an Alabama area code for their phone number, these are just a couple of red flags 🚩🚩 you should be aware of. Governor Kay Ivey has issued a state of emergency for all 67 counties ahead of this weekend’s severe weather.

Governor Ivey also issued the following comment:

“The state of Alabama is at risk for potentially dangerous, severe weather throughout this weekend, so it is critical that everyone stays very aware of their local forecasts. Now is the time to make any preparations and have a plan, should the weather conditions become dangerous. Certainly, we are no stranger to Mother Nature’s wrath, but I encourage Alabamians to be vigilant beginning tonight. Stay weather aware and stay safe!” – Governor Kay Ivey

The state of emergency will go into effect today at 2:00 p.m. CT and will remain in effect for the duration of the state of emergency. Alabama law specifies that a state of emergency ordinarily will last 60 days; however, it may be terminated earlier by written proclamation.
