Learn more about our recently completed project at Kinsman Swamp Preserve. This was a collaborative effort by West Creek Conservancy, Trumbull County MetroParks, Biohabitats, and Meadville Land Service, Inc. through the generous support of Ohio Department of Natural Resources H2Ohio to protect a high-quality 160+ acre existing, forested wetland complex and restore 36 acres through the conversion of agricultural land to wetlands and prairie.

Today kicks off Pollinator Week, Pollinator Week is an annual celebration in support of pollinator health that was initiated and is managed by Pollinator Partnership. Pollination is a vital stage in the life cycle of all flowering plants. When pollen is moved within a flower or carried from one flower to another of the same species it leads to fertilization. This transfer of pollen is necessary for healthy and productive native & agricultural ecosystems.

One way you can help the pollinators is by creating a pollinator-friendly habitat with native flowering plants that supply pollinators with nectar, pollen, and room for nesting.
