Travis Daigle- B&B Substation Employee was presented with the "Power of Caring" Award recently from Danny Fair-B&B Substation Superintendent.

"Travis was staying at a hotel and noticed this family with young children who looked to be struggling financially. Travis booked this family a hotel room for the night. He then took it a step further and booked them at a hotel of their choice for the following week."

The family was so appreciative. Acts of kindness go such a long way. Thank you Travis!!

Braving Texas-heat 🥵, post Hurricane Beryl, our B&B Electrical & Utility Contractors and Plaska Transmission crews continue to work tirelessly 💪, around the clock ⏰, to restore power ⚡️ to the ~250,000 people who remain without electricity 🔌, 8 days after the Category 1 hurricane made the first U.S. landfall in 2024.

🌟Meet Marina who has been working for Plaska for over 2 years! Marina helps keep everyone organized as our Fleet Coordinator. She organizes everything from on-renting / off-renting equipment, tags, titles, and registration to aiding our fleet team-mechanics, tooler and driver in their day-to-day functions.

The Plaska Leadership inspires her to always show up and do her best every single day even when there are stressful days. “Even on the most stressful days, we can always rely on Greg Jackson and Jeff Butler’s witty jokes and funny sense of humor to ease the tension.”

When Marina is not working, you can find her working on her hidden talent in writing, or enjoying every type of food especially if there is a bit of spice. Let’s give a round of applause to Marina, our employee star in the Plaska Employee Spotlight! We appreciate all your hard work Marina!

🌟Meet Joney: celebrating 20 years with B&B this June! His dedication as the director of our Transmission Substation Department is truly inspiring. But it's the family atmosphere and lifelong friendships that make his journey unforgettable, “I consider myself lucky because I have a great group of men that I work with who know what it takes to get the work completed in a safe and professional manner. I appreciate each and every one of them and the sacrifices they make to help make our department successful."

B&B is wrapping up construction on a 65MW/260MWh Battery Facility Project. Our portion of the work on the battery energy storage system (BESS) project included installation of below grade conduit runs, ground grid installation, site lighting, installation of medium voltage conductors and terminations, fiber loop and terminations, and assistance with commissioning.

Plaska crews recently completed a reconductor project in Moriarty, New Mexico.
The project consisted of 33 miles of a 3-phase single circuit, and 2 miles of a 3-phase double circuit. These circuits went down city streets, pasture lands, across canyons and over major cross-country interstates. With an elevation of over 6,000 feet, crews were able to overcome multiple obstacles such as altitude sickness, extreme winds, extreme blizzards that would appear in minutes, highway crossings that involved countless hours of coordination with multiple agencies, and other obstacles that come from working in desert like conditions.
Through it all, Plaska crews were able to complete the project leaving behind a portion of the local infrastructure upgraded to be more dependable for years to come.
