Balakay (birth name Blake) is the winner of our One Team award this month. Showing absolute passion and commitment, Balakay got the call up a short notice to make the trip to the Chatham Islands and it ended up being quite a challenging adventure with a lot of resourceful thinking required. When Balakay is not helping the team at short notice he has proven to be an extremely quick learner, with a very technical mindset.

Well done Balakay, great mahi!

This week's comes from Blake and Ryan, who have spent the week in the breathtaking Chatham Islands!

They've been busy conducting aerial surveys of the quarries on the island to calculate the amount of rock that has been removed, stockpiled, and how much is remains for future mining. These surveys are crucial for maintaining the 180km of roads on the Chathams, most of which are unsealed.

A huge thank you to Fulton Hogan for their support and trust in our work in this unique and stunning location!

We're thrilled to welcome Ross Gardiner to the team! Ross has joined our Lower Hutt office as a Senior Planner, joining us from Whakatāne District Council.

As a newly converted Wellingtonian, Ross has been spending his time exploring the city and is looking forward to ticking off some local hot spots like Zealandia, the Mākara wind farm, Matiu / Somes Island and a trip to Picton on the ferry.

Ross is excited to tackle upcoming projects at Cuttriss and has already hit the ground running, investigating technical aspects of local plans and their interpretations.

Side note - Ross once spent hundreds of hours perfecting the ultimate cookie recipe inspired by Levain Bakery in NYC 🍪- we can't wait to try one!

Welcome to the team Ross!

It's World Environment Day!

This year’s campaign is all about land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience. Under the powerful slogan “Our land. Our future. We are ”

Last year, we had an amazing experience helping out at Whareoa Guardians Community Trust. This year, we're excited to join forces with the Friends of Wharemauku-iti Stream later this month.

In addition to our hands-on efforts, we're proud to support these initiatives by being carbon net zero certified by Toitū Envirocare.
